LAPA's Six (6) Fundamental Tenets:

FUNDAMENTAL TENET NUMBER ONE (1):

Shill bidding is abhorrent to the auction business and will be vigorously opposed by all LAPA members.

FUNDAMENTAL TENET NUMBER TWO (2):

Integrity of LAPA members is of utmost importance.  In adhering to that standard, each member agrees to voluntarily disclose, on his/her profile on this website:

1.  Whether or not he or she has ever had a past felony conviction.

2.  If so, the date of the conviction shall be disclosed, as well as the nature of the conviction, and any penalty imposed.

FUNDAMENTAL TENET NUMBER THREE (3):

Again, in conformity with the integrity of LAPA members being of utmost importance, each member agrees to voluntarily disclose, on his/her profile on this website, in PDF format:

Any disciplinary action by the Louisiana Auctioneer Licensing Board (LALB) if judgment was rendered against the member.

FUNDAMENTAL TENET NUMBER FOUR (4):

Continuing education (CE) is a vital component of ANY profession.  Therefore, each member agrees to actively seek the reinstatement of CE to the auction profession (CE was abolished in LA in 2009).

FUNDAMENTAL TENET NUMBER FIVE (5):

Each member actively supports expanded diversity of the profession to include:

1.  More minority participation in the profession.

2.  Expand the number of young adults in Louisiana choosing auction as a career or side vocation.

FUNDAMENTAL TENET NUMBER SIX (6):

Each member endorses LAPA actively monitoring LALB meetings to ensure Louisiana consumers are adequately safeguarded against corrupt auction practices in Louisiana.  An integral component of that monitoring is LAPA's exclusive video archive of LALB meetings!!
